According to CBS News, Russia is facing a shortage of S-300 interceptor missiles, a development that could be helping Ukraine carry out increasingly effective long-range strikes inside Russian territory.
At the same time, Russia has been forced to expend large numbers of interceptors to counter waves of Ukrainian drones.
Military analysts told CBS News that Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian air defense sites in occupied territories, further straining Moscow’s resources. One expert suggested Russia may be consuming air defense missiles at an unsustainable pace.
However, Ukrainian officials cautioned that Russia still possesses newer air defense systems. The report also noted that Ukraine continues to face its own challenges, including shortages of advanced Patriot missile interceptors needed to counter Russian ballistic missile attacks.
