Tesla reported a stronger-than-expected second quarter, delivering 480,126 vehicles, a 25% increase from a year earlier and well above Wall Street forecasts of about 406,600, reported by CNBC.
According to the report, Tesla produced 451,758 vehicles during the quarter. The Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV accounted for about 97% of all deliveries, highlighting continued demand for the company's core models.
The company has responded by introducing lower-cost vehicle variants and expanding its Full Self-Driving technology into additional European markets.
Tesla also reported deploying 13.5 gigawatt-hours of energy storage products during the quarter, exceeding analyst expectations. The company is scheduled to release its full second-quarter financial results on July 22.
