About 1,700 Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released as part of the deal, according to Al Jazeera. Families arrived in the early hours, creating emotional scenes as they awaited the return of relatives.

Medical teams were stationed at the hospital to examine the detainees, who officials say endured years of harsh and degrading treatment in Israeli prisons.

Meanwhile, the Prisoners’ Media Office confirmed that 154 of the released Palestinians were transferred to Egypt to complete their release procedures under the “Free Flood 3” agreement.
The prisoner exchange is part of the ongoing truce that also saw 20 Israeli hostages freed from Gaza.
