President Donald Trump on Tuesday denied initiating any peace talks with Iran, saying it is up to Tehran to reach out if it wants negotiations.
"I have not reached out to Iran for 'peace talks' in any way, shape, or form," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "They should have taken the deal that was on the table – Would have saved a lot of lives!!!"

Speaking from Canada, where he attended the G7 summit, Trump reiterated his demand that Iran halt its nuclear program and warned residents in Tehran to evacuate immediately. He returned to Washington Tuesday to address the escalating Israel-Iran conflict, now in its fifth day.
According to The New York Times, Israeli officials are urging U.S. military involvement. Trump warned Iran not to target American assets, saying, "we'll come down so hard, it'd be gloves off."
He said he's weighing whether to send Vice President JD Vance and envoy Steve Witkoff to Iran.
