Trump Rejects Reported Iran Deal Terms, Condemns Drone Attack

According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, a draft deal would require the United States to ease oil sanctions, release part of Iran's frozen assets, and end its naval blockade

President Donald Trump has sharply rejected reports from Iranian state media describing the terms of a proposed agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran.

🇮🇷
According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, a draft deal would require the United States to ease oil sanctions, release part of Iran's frozen assets, and end its naval blockade. In return, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days and move toward broader negotiations.

Trump dismissed those claims in a Truth Social post, saying the reported provisions had "nothing to do" with the terms agreed to in writing. He accused Iran of acting in bad faith and described its public statements as false and misleading.

The president also condemned what he described as a drone attack targeting Indian vessels departing the Strait of Hormuz, calling the incident unacceptable and demanding that Iran change course.

Despite the dispute, reports continue to suggest a potential agreement could be signed as early as Sunday. According to Bloomberg, negotiations remain active ahead of next week's G7 summit. Investor optimism over a possible breakthrough helped lift global stock markets, while oil prices moved lower on hopes that tensions could ease.
