Record heat waves in Tunisia have triggered severe water and power shortages, compounding widespread public frustration with the country's leadership.

In response to the worsening infrastructure crisis and broader political tensions, protesters gathered in the capital city of Tunis on Thursday to demonstrate against President Kais Saied, with many demonstrators chanting slogans calling for him to step down.
