Security researchers at California-based firm Calif discovered a flaw that could bypass Apple’s Mac security systems, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The vulnerability was reportedly identified while researchers tested an early version of Anthropic’s Mythos AI software in April.
The report said attackers could exploit two software bugs and memory corruption techniques to gain access to restricted parts of Mac devices. Researchers classified the issue as a “privilege escalation” attack, meaning hackers could potentially seize deeper control of a system when combined with other cyberattack methods.
