A new report from the Tech Transparency Project claims Meta partnered with hundreds of family influencers, doctors and psychologists to promote Instagram’s teen safety tools while facing mounting criticism over youth safety on its platforms.

According to CNN, influencers including Sadie Robertson Huff and Leroy Garrett posted sponsored content praising Instagram Teen Accounts and parental controls.

Many posts carried the hashtag “#MetaPartner.” The report said Meta also hosted “Screen Smart” events across the country to encourage creators to promote the company’s safety messaging.

The campaign comes as Meta faces lawsuits and growing political scrutiny over claims that its platforms harm young users. Juries in California and New Mexico recently found Meta liable for addicting and harming children, though the company plans to appeal.

The report also alleged that some influencers later backed Meta-supported age verification legislation without publicly disclosing previous paid partnerships. Meta defended the campaign, saying its goal was to educate families and improve online safety for teenagers.
