Federal officials have arrested more than 30 people across 11 states in a sweeping probe into illegal sports betting and gambling schemes involving NBA players and coaches.

Among those charged are Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, both accused of participating in elaborate fraud operations.

Prosecutors say Rozier faked an injury in the 2023 season to manipulate betting outcomes, while Billups allegedly hosted Mafia-linked poker games rigged with X-ray tables and marked cards.

Victims reportedly lost tens of millions of dollars, according to the FBI.

U.S. Attorney Joseph Noccella called it one of the “most brazen sports corruption schemes” since online sports betting was legalized in most states.

The NBA has placed all implicated personnel on immediate leave and pledged full cooperation with federal authorities as the scandal raises new questions about the league’s integrity and oversight.
