U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ordered agents to temporarily suspend most vehicle stops nationwide following two fatal shootings during enforcement operations.
The report said the pause is intended to allow additional officer training while ICE reviews its enforcement procedures.
Operations involving individuals with serious criminal histories will continue despite the temporary suspension.
According to the report, questions have also emerged about accountability after Maine Sen.
Angus King said the agents involved in the Biddeford shooting were not equipped with body cameras, despite congressional funding for the technology.
The report added that at least 11 people have been fatally shot by ICE agents since January 2025, prompting renewed calls from lawmakers and advocacy groups for comprehensive investigations into the agency's enforcement practices.
