Lebanon’s health ministry said Israeli military operations have killed at least 2,294 people since early March, marking a heavy toll as a ceasefire takes effect.

According to official figures, the casualties include 274 women, 177 children, and around 100 health workers and emergency responders.

The death toll remains preliminary, with authorities warning the final count could rise as debris is cleared and identification processes are completed. Officials noted that many victims are still unaccounted for beneath rubble.

Despite the ceasefire, violence has not fully stopped. Lebanese state media reported that an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed one person on Friday.

Israel has retained the right under the truce to target Hezbollah if it detects imminent threats. The conflict began after Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader.

The situation remains fragile, with humanitarian concerns continuing to mount.
