Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Thursday that Israel would continue targeting anyone viewed as a threat to the country after an Israeli airstrike killed a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut.
According to reports, the strike killed Ahmed Ghaleb Balout, identified by Israel as a commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force. Netanyahu said the operation took place “in the heart of Beirut” and described Balout as a key figure in plans targeting northern Israel.

The report said Israel claims it has eliminated more than 200 Hezbollah operatives involved in attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers since fighting escalated.
Although Israel and Lebanon recently agreed to a ceasefire brokered by the Trump administration, clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces have continued. Both sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating the truce.
According to Lebanon’s health ministry, at least 11 additional people were killed Wednesday in Israeli strikes across southern and eastern Lebanon amid ongoing regional tensions linked to the Iran conflict.
