Power outages were reported across parts of the Russian-controlled Kherson region in southern Ukraine, according to Russian-installed officials, adding to growing infrastructure disruptions affecting nearby Crimea.

Vladimir Saldo, the Moscow-appointed governor of the occupied region, said electricity was fully or partially cut across the territory but did not provide details on the cause or the extent of the damage.

In Crimea, Russian authorities introduced temporary electricity restrictions in Sevastopol to reduce pressure on the power grid following recent Ukrainian drone attacks.

Officials also reported disruptions to fuel supplies, highlighting the increasing strain on infrastructure supporting the peninsula.

Crimea's Russian-installed governor, Sergei Aksyonov, announced that rail services to the peninsula would be gradually reduced and confirmed the suspension of children's summer camps amid ongoing security concerns.

He also said one person was killed in a drone strike near the crossing linking Crimea with the Russian-controlled part of the Kherson region.

The latest disruptions underscore the continued impact of cross-border attacks on energy, transport and civilian infrastructure as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues with no immediate signs of easing.
