Trump Rules Out Ceasefire Extension With Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump

Donald Trump said he expects the United States to secure a “great deal” with Iran to end the ongoing conflict, even as a fragile ceasefire nears expiration, reported by CNBC.

Speaking in an interview, Trump expressed confidence ahead of a second round of negotiations, stating Iran has limited options after sustained U.S. military pressure. According to the report, Trump claimed U.S. operations had significantly weakened Iran’s naval and air capabilities and disrupted its leadership structure.

The president suggested that recent developments had effectively reshaped Iran’s leadership dynamics, calling the outcome “indirect regime change.” However, he maintained that such an outcome was not an explicit objective of his administration.

Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, Trump said he does not intend to extend the ceasefire beyond its current deadline. The report said this stance raises uncertainty over whether negotiations can conclude before hostilities potentially resume.
