President Donald Trump said Wednesday that while the conflict between Iran and Israel appears to have ended, there’s no guarantee it won’t resume.

“They are both tired, exhausted... They fought very hard and very violently,” Trump told reporters at the NATO summit. “They were both satisfied to go home and get out.”

Trump acknowledged the fragile state of the truce. “Can it start again? I guess, someday, it can. It could maybe start soon,” he said.

I dealt with both, they’re both tired, exhausted. They fought very, very hard and very viciously, very violently, and they were both satisfied to go home and get out. And can it start again? I guess someday, it can. It could maybe start soon.

Trump emphasized that the turning point came with the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, which he claimed ended the war.
