President Donald Trump will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET, he announced on Truth Social.
The call follows the U.S. decision to pause certain missile and ammunition shipments to Ukraine. According to NBC News, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the hold after reviewing U.S. munitions stockpiles. White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said the move was to “put America’s interests first.”

The decision raised alarm among critics, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who warned on X that allowing Russia to win would be a “disaster” for U.S. security.
