Trump Weighs Cutting U.S. Troops In Germany As Tensions Rise

U.S. President Donald Trump

The United States is reviewing a potential reduction of its military presence in Germany, as tensions rise between President Donald Trump and Berlin over the Iran conflict. Trump said on Truth Social that a decision on troop levels would be made soon.

According to official data, more than 36,000 US troops are currently stationed in Germany, making it Washington’s largest military footprint in Europe. Key bases include Ramstein Air Base and the Grafenwoehr training facility.

Trump rejected those remarks and defended his administration’s approach. Talks with Iran remain stalled, adding pressure on transatlantic ties.

European leaders continue to call for a swift resolution to the conflict, as economic and security concerns intensify.
