Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian fuel tankers operating in the Sea of Azov as part of its campaign to disrupt supply lines to Russian-occupied Crimea, according to reports.

💡
Ukraine's drone force commander Robert Brovdi claimed on Telegram that 14 Russian vessels were struck on Thursday, bringing the total number of ships hit over four days to 35. CNBC said it could not independently verify the claim.

The report said the strikes are aimed at weakening Russia's logistics network and limiting fuel supplies to Crimea, which Moscow seized in 2014. Ukraine has also expanded long-range attacks on Russian oil infrastructure, including a recent strike on an oil refinery in Omsk, deep inside Russian territory.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to face fuel shortages, with long queues reported at petrol stations. According to Berenberg economist Holger Schmieding, the economic costs of the war are increasing, while Russia's broader fiscal outlook remains under growing pressure.
