According to the statement, both sides remain committed to launching technical discussions as soon as possible. Switzerland's foreign ministry later confirmed the postponement but said preparations for future talks are continuing.

The negotiations were expected to focus on implementing the recently signed 14-point agreement between Washington and Tehran. The deal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, easing sanctions and establishing a framework for a final agreement within 60 days.

Meanwhile, renewed violence in Lebanon has raised concerns about the ceasefire process. According to Lebanese authorities, Israeli strikes in the south killed at least 18 people overnight.

Israel said it targeted Hezbollah-linked infrastructure and personnel, while President Donald Trump reiterated that he expects the ceasefire to apply across all fronts, including Lebanon.
