The U.S. military has seized an Iran-linked cargo vessel in the Arabian Sea, escalating tensions amid ongoing conflict and fragile peace talks, CNN reported. The ship, identified as the M/V Touska, was intercepted after allegedly defying a U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports.

According to U.S. Central Command, the USS Spruance fired warning shots and later disabled the vessel after repeated non-compliance. Marines then boarded the ship from helicopters and took control. The report said the vessel is now in U.S. custody.

Officials noted the ship is owned by a sanctioned Iranian-linked company and had been traveling between Asia and Iranian ports. Experts told CNN the vessel could be seized as a “prize of war,” depending on its cargo and legal review.

The fate of the crew remains unclear and may depend on nationality and cargo type. Iran has threatened retaliation. The incident comes as the Trump administration signals possible renewed talks with Tehran.
