Why Trump Says U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Is 'On Life Support'

U.S. President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump said the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Iran is now “on life support” after rejecting Tehran’s latest proposal to end the conflict.

According to reports, Trump dismissed Iran’s response as “totally unacceptable” because it failed to include meaningful nuclear concessions.

Iran reportedly demanded an end to U.S. sanctions, removal of the American blockade, war reparations, and recognition of its control over the Strait of Hormuz before deeper negotiations could begin.

The report said tensions remain high across the Middle East, with renewed clashes involving Israel and Hezbollah, attacks affecting Gulf shipping routes, and rising global fuel prices linked to instability around the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that military action against Iran could resume if diplomacy fails. Meanwhile, Trump is expected to raise the issue during upcoming talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
