Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin declared their countries’ relationship at a “historic high” during talks in Beijing, days after Xi hosted U.S. President Donald Trump for a separate summit.

According to the report, Xi described China-Russia cooperation as a stabilizing force amid growing global instability and rising “unilateral hegemonic tendencies.” Putin called the partnership “unprecedented” and praised Russia’s role as a reliable energy supplier during ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The two leaders signed nearly two dozen agreements covering trade, science, education and energy cooperation. They also backed extending the Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship and supported a “multipolar world” order.

The report said both leaders criticized Trump’s “Golden Dome” missile defense proposal and blamed the United States for allowing a key nuclear arms control treaty to expire earlier this year.

Meanwhile, China confirmed several trade agreements reached with the Trump administration, including plans to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft and restore some U.S. agricultural imports. Discussions over tariffs and investment cooperation are expected to continue in the coming months.
