The foreign ministers of Turkey, the U.S., and Syria will meet in Antalya on Thursday to iron out details of President Donald Trump’s pledge to lift sanctions on Damascus, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced.

Speaking ahead of a NATO foreign ministers’ gathering, Fidan called Wednesday’s leaders’ summit “historic,” saying the sanctions removal would unlock investment and humanitarian access for Syria after 14 years of civil war.
Fidan will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shibani. He emphasized that while U.S. congressional approval is still needed, Trump has shown clear intent to normalize economic ties.
Fidan said the three sides will coordinate financial, investment, and infrastructure plans for Syria, calling the breakthrough a vital step toward regional stability and reconstruction.
