Two U.S. service members were rescued after a U.S. Army Apache helicopter went down off the coast of Oman while conducting patrol operations, according to U.S. Central Command. Reported by CNN, the soldiers were recovered within about two hours and were said to be in stable condition.
President Donald Trump confirmed that both pilots were safe and that no injuries had been reported. The incident marks the first reported loss of an Apache helicopter since the conflict involving Iran intensified earlier this year.
The loss also adds to a growing list of U.S. military aircraft incidents since the Iran conflict began, including fighter jet, refueling aircraft and drone losses documented in recent months.
