President Donald Trump said a deal to end the Iran conflict could be finalized within "two or three days," expressing confidence that negotiations are nearing completion.
His comments came after renewed tensions over the weekend, when Iran and Israel exchanged strikes for the first time since a ceasefire took effect in April.
Tehran launched missiles toward northern Israel after accusing Jerusalem of violating the truce through military operations in Lebanon. Israel responded with what it described as large-scale strikes on Iranian defense targets.
Iran later announced a halt to attacks on Israel but warned that military action could resume if Israeli forces continue operations in Lebanon.
The report said Trump also confirmed that the crew of a U.S. Apache helicopter involved in an incident near the Strait of Hormuz was unharmed, with further details expected from the administration.
