Iran has reportedly considered targeting U.S. military assets in Europe if its conflict with Washington intensifies, according to the Financial Times, which cited two Iranian regime insiders.

The report identified U.S. assets in Bulgaria and Cyprus as potential targets. CNBC said it could not independently verify the claims.

The development comes as diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran remain stalled. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the United States is not currently negotiating with Iran and does not intend to restart talks.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates announced Wednesday that it was suspending trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice. The move followed reports of Iranian ballistic missiles approaching UAE territorial waters, although Iran denied targeting the country.

Tensions also remain high around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route. Traffic through the waterway remains sharply reduced, while a recent attack on a cargo vessel reportedly killed one person.

The report said the conflict0 continues to strain U.S. relations across the region.
