Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing days after President Donald Trump concluded his high-profile China visit, highlighting Beijing’s effort to balance ties with both Washington and Moscow amid global tensions.
According to CNN, Chinese leader Xi Jinping is expected to discuss energy cooperation, the Ukraine war and the ongoing Iran conflict with Putin during the state visit.

The report said the two countries are also preparing a joint declaration promoting a “multipolar world” and a new international order less dependent on American influence.
Energy security is expected to dominate talks, including discussions around the long-delayed Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline. China has relied heavily on discounted Russian oil since Western sanctions were imposed after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
The report added that both China and Russia are weighing how much involvement they want in any future Iran peace negotiations while protecting their strategic partnerships with Tehran.
