The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Monday to hear President Donald Trump's appeal against a $5 million civil verdict awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll, allowing the judgment to stand, according to CNN.
CNN reported that a federal appeals court previously upheld the verdict, rejecting Trump's claims that the trial judge improperly allowed testimony from other women and admitted the 2005 "Access Hollywood" recording as evidence.
Separately, Trump also faces an $83 million judgment in Carroll's earlier 2019 defamation lawsuit. Including interest, the report said Trump now owes Carroll more than $100 million. His legal team is expected to appeal the larger judgment.
