The Trump administration has expanded sanctions against Cuba by targeting the country's Ministry of Tourism and nine additional state and paramilitary entities.
According to the report, the measures are intended to restrict what the U.S. State Department described as sources of funding for the Cuban government and organizations accused of repressing political opponents.
The report said the sanctions, authorized under a May executive order, block the U.S.-based property and financial interests of the designated entities.
According to the report, the latest restrictions come as Cuba's tourism industry continues to weaken.
The report noted that some international hotel operators have already reduced operations linked to sanctioned entities, while official figures show international visitor arrivals during the first four months of the year fell by more than half compared with the same period last year, adding to the island's ongoing economic challenges.
